What does it mean that the product is "made from 98.99% nature-derived ingredients”?

We are aware that nowadays, the term “natural” has been widely used and often misinterpreted. For us, your trust is crucial and we want our claims to be backed up by hard evidence. Declared percentage levels of nature-derived ingredients in each {save} product, ranging from 92% to 99%, were calculated in accordance with the newest international ISO16128 standard “Cosmetics - Guidelines on technical definitions and criteria for natural and organic cosmetic ingredients”.

Which ingredients will I never find in your products? 

Our goal was to create products that will be safe to use for everyone, including pregnant women and those with sensitive skin. We decided not to use any questionable ingredients such as parabens, silicones, phthalates, mineral oils, sulfates, or GMOs. We also do not use any essential oils and fragrances, natural or synthetic.  Our products are manufactured in our factory in Europe, where over 1500 ingredients are banned or restricted by law which makes it the most demanding cosmetics production law in the world.

Does any of your products contain ingredients from GMOs?

No, we don’t use any genetically modified ingredients in our products.

Do you use any synthetic fragrances in your products?

We do not use ANY fragrances in our products, neither synthetic nor natural.

Are your products cruelty-free?

Yes, our products are 100% cruelty free. We never test on animals during any stage of our product development or production, we do not commission animal testing of our products or ingredients. We are certified by PETA as “Cruelty free & vegan”. We have also confirmed that our ingredient suppliers do not test on animals. {save} products are not available and will not be sold in countries where animal testing is required by law.

Are your products vegan?

Yes, all our products are 100% vegan – they do not contain any animal-derived ingredients. We are certified by PETA as cruelty free & vegan.

Are your products gluten-free?

Yes, all products are gluten-free!

Are your eye products ophthalmologically tested?

Yes, our eye creams as well as our Hydrating Facial Cleanser were ophthalmologically tested on sensitive skin and eyes. All our products are also dermatologically tested and are recommended for sensitive skin.

Are your products dermatologically tested?

Yes, all of them! Our products have been tested by experts on a group of volunteers with stated sensitive or allergy-prone skin. They are also widely used by people with sensitive skin with great results.

Can I be 100% sure the products will not irritate my skin or cause an allergic reaction?

Everyone’s skin is different. We recommend reading our list of ingredients (INCI) thoroughly, and avoiding anything you have a specific allergy to. We've put all our effort into creating the most gentle products possible. Also, we recommend doing a patch test before first use! Check Q&As below on how to perform it. In case of an adverse reaction, you should stop using the product and contact a doctor.

Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?

{save} skin care is created with sensitive skin in mind. Our products are not only 100% FREE from parabens, SLS, sulfate, mineral oils and GMOs, but we also decided to eliminate any fragrances (both synthetic and natural), essential oils and colorants. We’ve created formulas that are safe, gentle and highly effective. Nevertheless, we encourage to patch test prior to first use - please check the next question on how to do it (below)!

How to check if I am not allergic to the product?

Patch test before first use! It's easy: ⁣apply the product on a patch of skin behind your ear or jaw and wait 24h. If by then there's no negative skin reaction, repeat it just to double-check. ⁣Even though our formulations are super gentle and suit sensitive skin, individual negative reaction can always happen. Each of us is unique and so is our skin! In the unlikely case of an irritation, stop using the product.

What evidence do you have that your products actually work?

Our declarations regarding the actual effects of each product are backed with hard evidence:

1. For each of our Premium Ingredients, we received proven confirmation on its effectiveness and we use the recommended specific quantities of each of those ingredients for maximum efficacy and safety.
2. All products were dermatologically tested on a group of testers with stated sensitive and/or allergy-prone skin.
3. We conduct performance testing to confirm the efficacy of our products. Tests are conducted by experts and included the participation of dermatologists. In product testing of the eye creams and Hydrating Facial Cleanser, we also brought in an ophthalmologist. Testing conditions are defined with typical daily life in mind, so as to ensure reproducible results that our customers can depend on. Detailed usage procedure, dosage, frequency and other indicators are strictly defined in order to receive reliable tests results.

How long I can use the products after opening?

You can find a “best before” date on each product, and you can be sure it is completely safe to use right up until that date, whether it is already opened and in use or not. Our airless packaging ensures the best preservation of the product itself, as it is neither directly exposed to the air nor to any possible contamination. Look for the “best before” date at the bottom of the outer package and on the back of the airless packaging.

Why do you use only airless packaging?

Your health and safety are our highest priority. Airless packaging is a perfect choice for products with sensitive, natural formulas that can be affected by exposure to air and UV light, causing the products to change color, accelerate decay, and become less effective. Airless packaging prevents this from happening- the product does not have direct exposure to air or other outside contaminants. Unlike jar packaging, airless package eliminates the exposure of the product to air and to your fingers every time you apply it. You can see how much product you have left (the package is semi-transparent) and we can guarantee that you’ll get to use every drop – no product left inside the bottle! Last but not least, this packaging is much more practical for use in your real life – it’s light to travel with and won't break if you accidentally drop it on your tiled bathroom floor.

Can I use the Rejuvenating Moisturizer if I'm 20+?

Absolutely. All of our products are suitable for any skin type and any age because of their very gentle and extremely safe formulas. The anti-aging agent in the Rejuvenating Moisturizer is the bakuchiol, a plant-derived ingredient from edible seeds. It has an ayurvedic origin and is a healthy and safe alternative to retinol with the same beneficial anti-aging properties, without the negative side effects. It also has a powerful anti-acne effect, does not have comedogenic properties (does not clog the pores), and we recommend this product even for people under 20.

Are your products safe to use during pregnancy?

All of our products are very gentle and totally safe for personal use. Nevertheless, should there be any question or concern about a specific ingredient or allergic condition during pregnancy or while nursing, we recommend consulting with your physician for evaluation prior to use.

Are your products suitable for men?

Absolutely! Our skin care brand was designed with women’s needs in mind, but the products we've created are absolutely appropriate for use by men as well, especially those who have sensitive and allergy-prone skin and struggle to find suitable men’s skin care products.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Yes, we use recyclable packaging (airless bottles) with conformity to international cosmetic standards of Ecocert and Cosmos (read more in the answer to the next question). It means it meets requirements regarding cleanliness, hygiene and traceability throughout all processes and ensures that packaging respects the environment.
Recycling programs vary from community to community so we recommend that you check with your local recycling office to see what is accepted in your area and how to proceed.

Does your packaging have any certifications?

Yes, airless bottles we use have obtained renowned attestation of conformity to international cosmetic standards of Ecocert and Cosmos. This certification means that our packaging meets requirements regarding cleanliness, hygiene and traceability throughout all processes and ensures that packaging respects the environment.

Is every ingredient listed on the product page and packaging?

Yes, you can find a full list of ingredients for each product on it’s page, as well as on the packaging (i.e. INCI). We do not hide anything because we are proud of our clean formulas!

I see there are probiotics in {save} products, what are they?  Are they living bacteria? Are probiotics safe?

The microbiome is the natural collection of microorganisms that live inside and outside our bodies that help to keep us healthy.  These are the so-called “good bacteria” probiotics, a defense barrier of the skin that when in balance, protects it against external aggressions, keeps the immune system in check and reduces inflammation. The Duo-Biotic Complex of prebiotics and probiotics in {save} products supports the skin’s microbiome and helps keep it in balance. Prebiotics are natural sugars working as probiotics' energy source which help them work effectively. As far as {save} formulas are concerned the two types of bacteria that are used (L.casei and L.acidophilus) were inactivated, meaning that they will not develop, but will maintain all the beneficial properties for the skin and its healthy microbiome. 

Do you use preservatives in your products?

Yes, because your health and safety is our first concern, we believe you cannot guarantee the safety of a skin care product based on water that is produced without any preservatives. We find such products dangerous and will never risk your health for a better marketing position. Nevertheless we managed to successfully replace parabens.

Ensuring that the product stays effective for its entire shelf life is achieved not only only through the use of preservatives. We also ensure that all production processes are safe and the product is protected from exposure to contaminants. Airless packaging adds to the longevity of our formulas, preventing exposure to oxygen and possible contamination from your fingers.

Are the products manufactured in the USA?

No, our factory is located in Poland, within the European Union. Owning our own production line enables us to keep an eye on the whole manufacturing process and be independent from anyone else’s special interests or policies. We set our own high standards and we can execute them. As a Polish producer, we are obliged to respect the laws of the European Union, which have some of the most stringent requirements in the world regulating the manufacture of beauty products. Our factory operates in accordance with the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standard ISO 22716 and the Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament. Rest assured that our products meet the highest safety standards.

Why do you use alcohol denat. in the Gentle Gommage Exfoliator while you avoid it in your other products? I heard it should be avoided as it dries out the skin.

The alcohol denat. that you can find in the Gentle Gommage Exfoliator formula is actually an ingredient of an ingredient, and is found in a miniscule quantity in the product - 0.1%! When present in such a trace amount, it will not have any allergenic or drying properties. It is a part of Caviar Lime extract, a nature-derived gentle exfoliating agent. Caviar Lime is an edible fruit from Australia and contains various fruit acids such as citric acid, as well as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, etc.

Are there any warnings to take into account while using {save} products?

You can find any applicable specific warnings on each product. Please remember not to use a product in case of hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients and do not apply to damaged skin. {save} products are for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes (except for our opthalmologically tested Smoothing Eye Cream and Hydrating Facial Cleanser) and mucous membranes. Stop using and contact a doctor if an adverse reaction occurs. Keep out of reach of children. Please read and follow directions for safe use found on our website or packaging.
