Our very first Apple Blossom Festival is coming!
- by Joanna Draniak-KicinskaIt’s Spring in the beautiful Shenandoah County, which means it’s time for Winchester VA’s Apple Blossom Festival!
Originally started in 1924 as a one-day festival, the festival now includes nine days of parades, concerts, dancing, fireworks, wine and fun with thousands of people from the region! Annually, a queen and court are crowned and celebrities big and small come to town to ride in parades and to lead events included Elle MacPherson, Dan Marino, Sara Evans and many, many more.
As you may know, Winchester is sometimes called “The Apple Capital of the World”. During Spring, the apple trees begin to bloom in gorgeous pink and green, signaling a fruitful harvest. For the first time ever, the festival was canceled last year due to Covid. This year, the festival’s theme is “Back in Bloom”. It’ll look a little different this year- no parades, but several creative events so attendees can be safe and still party like it’s 2019!
This will be our very first Apple Blossom Festival, and to be honest I’m excited. We are sponsoring the Wine Fest at the Frederick Co. Fairgrounds, April 23-25.
Wine tasters will come at designated times, so we are looking forward to seeing lots of smiling faces, but in a safe way!
If you have tickets make sure you come and visit my family and I and the {save} team at our tent and make sure to pick up samples, coupons, prizes from our prize wheel (skincare, gift cards, wine, and more!!) and to pick up some free Apple Blossom swag. We can’t wait to see you!
xoxo
Joanna
