West Virginia - our new home

- by Joanna Draniak-Kicinska
Just over a year ago we decided to make a home for {save} in beautiful West Virginia. As we first explored where we should settle, we were impressed by the quiet, understated landscapes of the state, while still being near several major cities. Furthermore, the kindness of the people was unmatched, and we immediately felt welcome.

Currently, our main office is in Martinsburg, but we are excited to share our recent partnership with Blue Ridge Community and Technical College. Through this relationship, we have a gorgeous new space in Berkeley Springs in which we will produce marketing materials including instructional videos, and will continue to expand our research and development department. The addition of a studio and a lab will triple our footprint in West Virginia, and with the additional space, we hope for additional positions as well! We are truly grateful for the opportunity to expand while becoming more involved with our local community.

Berkeley Springs is considered America’s first spa. Native Americans first utilized the spa, before becoming well known as George Washington began visiting in 1748. Even now, the public is welcome to fill containers and drink from the fresh spring, and can visit dozens of local spas. The waters in Berkeley Springs run consistently at 74 degrees, while the healing properties of the water have been well established, a perfect place for {save}!

Recently, we celebrated West Virginia Day, the day which the state was formally admitted into the United States, June 20, 1863. We feel honored to be a part of this gorgeous state. The state’s slogan is “Wild and wonderful” and I understand why! My family and I have enjoyed getting to know the state- through nature hikes, trips to the mountains, and visits to quaint towns. This summer we hope to try tubing and maybe some whitewater rafting!

We can’t wait to learn more about the area, and continue to grow here with {save}.

Xoxo,

Joanna
