Join the fight against domestic violence once again

- by Joanna Draniak-Kicinska

As you may know, supporting organizations fighting against domestic violence is a cause near and dear to my heart.

When we moved to the United States, our first benefit was to support our local domestic violence shelter, The Laurel Center. While we continue to support our local shelter, I wanted a way to support a larger organization, while still having a meaningful impact so I asked our friends at the Laurel Center for ideas, who suggested we get in touch with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV).

This is a national nonprofit whose mission is “to lead, mobilize and raise our voices to support efforts that demand a change of conditions that lead to domestic violence such as patriarchy, privilege, racism, sexism, and classism. We are dedicated to supporting survivors, holding offenders accountable and supporting advocates.”

To support this mission, the team at NCADV have some wonderful programs and initiatives. One of the programs offered is financial education workshop series so victims of abuse don’t need to choose between poverty or staying in an abusive relationship. Another powerful initiative is NCADV’s Memorial Monday campaign, designed to honor and celebrate the lives of those lost to domestic violence.

I have long recognized the importance of organizations like the NCADV, and am so glad that we are collaborating in the month of September.

Ruth Glenn, NCADV President/CEO said “We are excited to have Save Skincare partner with NCADV and aid our efforts to support survivors and advocates. We so appreciate their commitment to aid advocates and empower survivors. Through this campaign Save Skincare, keeps its commitment to prioritize the safety and health of women.

For the month of September, 10% of all sales will be shared with the NCADV.
