Pacifiers, Patience and Skincare!

- by Michelle Brownlee

Hi everyone, Michelle here! Hope you are all doing well, and staying safe and healthy!

As we move into the fourth month of Covid, my kiddos and I decided it was time for a change of scenery, and we decided to take a short trip to the beach. This will be my daughters first road trip so I’ve been a tad apprehensive; 7 hours in the car with a four-year-old and a baby!

I’ve always found the beach and the ocean to be relaxing and always come back feeling rejuvenated and I’m hoping this time is the same! For this trip I packed a few travel sizes- my Hydrating Facial Cleanser, Ultra-light Moisturizer, Anti-pollution Moisturizer and Vitamin C Booster. Travel sizes are great for me, there isn’t a space to spare traveling with little ones! As some of you might know, I started working with {save} several months ago, and since my skin has become more vibrant and healthier. I’ve become a believer in a skincare routine, especially one that includes ectoin. I had never heard of ectoin before but it’s a little miracle ingredient!

Discovered in the Egyptian Desert in 1985, ectoin is a natural amino acid with numerous beneficial qualities. It was found in microorganisms and plants living in extreme conditions like salt lakes, hot springs, permanent ice or deserts. Ectoin is their self-defense and survival substance and scientists decided to use it in skincare and it works wonders!

While ectoin protects and helps maintain the environment, it has similar effects on skin. Protecting the skin’s top layer is crucial in fighting against harmful environmental factors, such as sunlight, weather and pollution which can cause dark spots and wrinkles. Furthermore, ectoin helps to retains skin’s moisture, and soothes and calms the skin.

Even though I use sunscreen at the beach, my skin often feels dry after a few hours in the sun and wind. I’ve found that using {save}’s Hydrating Facial Cleanser, and then Anti-pollution Moisturizer and Vitamin C Booster makes my skin feel hydrated and fresh, even with a change in environment.

Hoping you are able to find an escape from the day to day during this challenging time. Our {save} team is always advocating for self-care, and now is no exception. Take time to call a friend, read a book, go on a picnic or simply enjoy the scenery! And don’t forget your travel sizes if you are traveling this summer, they can be found here.

Thinking of you!

Michelle
